The V Stage at V Festival 2006

V Festival Messageboard

Did you go to the V Festival? Let us know what you thought about the weekend here...

2006's V Festival had a brilliant line up with bands such as Morrissey, Radiohead, The Magic Numbers, Razorlight, Paul Weller, Keane and many more. So was it as good as you expected it to be - perhaps it was even better?

Were you one of the people who had problems getting to the festival on Friday? It took some people up to 11 hours to get to Weston Park due to traffic problems! Perhaps you were disappointed that it rained this year - or do you think that's what festivals are all about?

These were some of your thoughts (messageboard now closed)

We go to the V festival every year and this year has got to be the worst ever!!!!! We vowed never to go again. Far too expensive, terrible line up apart from Faithless and Fat Boy Slim, Kasabian were awful there is no real oomph or atmosphere anymore. Why pay all that money when you can't get near any of the bands, the atmosphere is terrible and there are drugs all over the place. How can this enjoyment anymore? Get some decent bands and stop being so greedy festival organisers! Sort the parking out will you? 7hours it took me to get out of the car park Monday how is this enjoyment anymore and all for a lot more money than last year! RIP OFF

Being a V virgin I didnt quite know what was in store and yet despite the mud and my traumatic encounter with the porta loo and being kept up all night by some guy shouting " get off my front" when the fool pitched his tent on the main path!! all i can say roll on V2007 I cant wait..

Sonny
Faithless and Radiohead were incredible! & Dandy Warholes were what the toliets were spilling out with. Awful! Kano and Hard-Fi impressed me greatly as well. But to everyone reading this: SEE FAITHLESS LIVE!

Oldies gang
Can i say. Why are people complaining about, truge from the car park, food, mud, ques and so on. Yes it was a pain, yes it was hard work but its a festival of 60, 000 plus enjoying fantastic music in a space for a weekend. A great atmosphere and a wounderfull expeareance for anyone to have. If we can do it at 40 plus then carry on. Enjoy you only LIVE once

Rach
wow the Radiohead set was most definitely the best thing i've ever seen.

Sue
The Rifles were great will certainly be looking out for there next CD .....

Sue and Chris
We are the ageing hippies who thought the V was fantatstic wellies and rain is great fun. Keane, Weller and Morrisey made the weekend. Young people at out tent were fun and friendly. Better toilets next time please and can Chris have her pink purse back. GREAT STUFF we will be back....

Katy - Stoke-on-Trent
Oh My God! I was a true V virgin but I absolutely loved every single part of it, the rain, the amazing performances by so many bands, the rain, the people oh and the rain! Faithless, Daniel Powter, Magic Numbers, Razorlight, Keane & Beck were absolutley amazing and I would recommend anyone to see them live! The only think that let it down was the no chair's in the arena rule, which was clearly not kept by all the security, it just didn't make sense! But all in all the weekend was fantastic and I will definately be there again! Roll on V 2007

Dom
The whole weekend was wicked with one exception - why did the vendors have to lump the laminates and the programmes together in a naff see-through bag and charge us a tenner? If I'm honest I know the answer why but having the choice of either one or the other is better and doesn't seem like a rip off. If people don't want the programmes don't make 'em! Don't force us to have one along with the laminate. Despite this, V on our doorstep is a real gem. Long may it reign. From a more than happy festival goer.

I was a festival vigin - V was my first! I admit - I was stuck in the 80's when it came to music - the only reson I'm on the computer now is to download songs from Keane..Orson..Beck.. I'm converted. I'll never ever 'tent it' again.... but i'll be there in a caravan next year. The best weekend I've ebver had.

Went to Weston Park in the rain, but was prepared so it didnt spol a thing. Had a fantastic weekend and saw some amazing bands, Faithless and Paul Weller were the best for me!! Cant wait for next year!!

David Beet
It was a pain getting there but the weekend we had i would wait in traffic twice as long. It was amazing. The line up lived upto expectation, Razorlight Kasabian and The Charlatans were all on fine form but with that many good acts how could you choose a favourite. The do need better signs for where each campsite is though as after a long day in the Strongbow tent its hard work locating your own tent

Michelle From Blackpool
I went to V at Weston Park and it was out of this world. Faithless was amazing and the atmosphere was great. The rain did'nt dampen any spirits, it just made it more fun.

Carl
Razorlight made my weekend! As well as Magic Numbers, The Feeling, Starsailor, and Keane.

andy w
superb, rained at t in the park too,hey we're british for gods sake!liked the new layout too and i travelled from the north-east and traffic was'nt too bad

Marie
It took me 6 1/2 hours to get to V from Manchester!! but it was well worth it. The rain wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be when I saw the weather forcasts - if you're prepared with wellies and waterproofs the rain doesn't bother you, it's about the bands not looking good!
