Historically it is most famous for its stunning Castle & Moat House, but nowadays visitors are also drawn to Tamworth because of the huge Snowdome.

Funky Facts about Tamworth...

There's more snow in Tamworth than any other part of the UK... throughout the year! That's because of the Snowdome attraction, that boasts a real 'snow' slope.

Robert Peel who invented the modern police serviceĀ in 1829, was MP here, and his statue dominates the town centre.

Nearby Drayton Manor Park rivals Alton Towers as a great UK amusement park, and has a zoo too.

Tamworth Football Club - aka The Lambs - had its moment of glory in 2006, coming within a whisker of knocking Stoke City out of the FA Cup in the third round.

Tamworth's Anglo-Saxon princess and saint, St Editha, was a formidable character. The story goes that she came back after death to assault a lord who tried to interfere with the convent she founded!
