Hooking pair depart the Dragons
James Richards
The Dragons have released ex-Newport and Leicester forward James Richards.

Their fellow hooker Paul Young has also been forced to quit the game after damaging knee ligaments.

Young, who suffered a similar injury in the other knee last season, was advised to finish playing after having surgery to reconstruct the joint.

Wales hooker Steve Jones is the first-choice number two at Rodney Parade, and the Dragons have just brought Kieran Crawford into the squad.

Crawford is a former Wales Under-21 hooker who has been playing for the Newport club side.

Another Newport forward, Gethin Robinson, has also been added to the Dragons regional squad.

He is primarily a prop, but it is thought that he has the potential to convert to hooker.
