Ben MacDougall joined Edinburgh in October |
Scotland coach Matt Williams has drafted eight uncapped players into his squad ahead of the RBS Six Nations clash with Wales on Sunday. Former Australian rugby league centre Ben MacDougall could be in line for his first cap after signing for Edinburgh.
Stand-off Phil Godman and winger Rory Lamont are also included.
Back-row forward Paul Dearlove, prop Alasdair Dickinson, lock Alastair Kellock, hooker Scott Lawson and flanker Andrew Wilson could also debut.
MacDougall was found guilty of taking an anabolic agent in 1998 and banned for 22 games.
But the Scottish Rugby Union stressed that they were aware of the failed drugs test before he was signed by Edinburgh.
MacDougall claimed he had been given an over-the-counter supplement by a fitness trainer at his rugby league club.
The 27-year-old signed for the Gunners until May 2007 from NRL club Melbourne Storm, having also played for Wests, Newcastle Knights and Manly Sea Eagles.
MacDougall qualifies for Scotland through a paternal grandfather from Glasgow.
