Adrian Gunnell will play Steve Davis for a place in the last 16 |
Telford's Adrian Gunnell is set to take on his boyhood hero Steve Davis after the greatest victory of his career in the Royal London Watches Grand Prix. Gunnell beat world number three Shaun Murphy 5-3 in Glasgow to make it into Wednesday night's last 16 clash. The 36-year-old, who started his career 14 years ago, is looking forward to the challenge, admitting: "Steve Davis was the reason I got into snooker. "I used to sit for hours in front of the telly wishing he'd win every time."
