Businessman Nick Andrews, the man behind plans to revive the Oxford Cheetahs, is keen for a big turnout of fans when the side ride at Reading.

Andrews has organised a challenge meeting against Wimbledon at Smallmead on 11 August (1945BST) and told BBC Oxford that numbers will be vital.

"We need to show our friends at the Greyhound Racing Association that we can fill a stadium.

"We need to prove they are missing out by not letting us run at Oxford."

Fans in Oxford have been without speedway since the closure of the club under former promoter Allen Trump earlier this year.
