The 31-year-old, just three games short of 400 career appearances - more than half of them for Brighton - has joined on non-contract terms until May.

"We've got a gentleman's agreement he'll stay until the end of the season, boss Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.

"He hasn't played a lot of games recently," said Stimson. "But we'll test him in the week."
