Leicester were left to rue a number of missed chances as Northampton held out for a point at the Walker's Stadium.

Leicester should have taken the lead inside 10 minutes but Lloyd Dyer Dyer's right-footed shot failed to trouble keeper Frank Fielding.

Matt Fryatt volleyed wide from six yards while Joe Mattock, Andy King and Howard all missed decent chances.

Northampton's Danny Jackman went close, while Adebayo Akinfenwa's header was cleared by defender Aleksandar Tunchev.
