Boston pay price for poor start

Steve Welsh
Welsh is director of the youth set-up at Boston United

Boston United lost 3-2 to Frickley Athletic in the Unibond Premier Division on Wednesday, in their first game under caretaker boss Steve Welsh.

A Lee Morris brace and a goal from Chris White left the Pilgrims 3-0 down after 37 minutes at York Street.

Headers either side of half-time from Ollie Ryan and Jon Rowan gave Boston hope, before Matt Bloomer was sent off.

Boston have taken only one point from their last seven league games, and remain fourth from bottom in the table.

That run of results saw manager Tommy Taylor leave the club on Tuesday.
