Cycling Road Race Course

The cycling road race will take place along the streets of Athens city centre, passing a host of historical monuments and archaeological sites.

Kotzia Square will be the site for the start and finish line, with the rest of the route confirmed later in July.

The course has been designed in co-operation with the International Cycling Union and a test event was successfully conducted in August 2003.

An ICU official described the course as "wonderful and entertaining".
