    Viktoria Erjavec works up a break point of her own but the door is slammed shut by Elena Rybakina, who quickly recovers to secure the hold.

    Viktoria Erjavec draws Elena Rybakina in with a drop shot but the second seed is alert to it and able to squeeze a passing strike beyond the Slovenian for a 15-30 lead.

    Erjavec manages to pull level on the next point but another miss gifts Rybakina a break point.

    The Australian Open champion doesn't have to do much as Erjavec double faults.

    Spain's latest teenage sensation Rafael Jodar has made a blistering start to his first French Open.

    The fast-rising 19-year-old is well on his way to a place in the second round after just 70 minutes, having taken the first two sets for the loss of just a single game.

    Jodar is already a break up in the third, too. He's one to watch out for, that's for sure!

    Stan Wawrinka will need to come back from a set down if he is to extend his French Open farewell.

    The former champion lost the opening set 6-3 to Dutchman Jesper de Jong after being broken in his second service game.

    The second set remains on serve - but you sense it's crucial for Wawrinka to level things up here in the intense mid-afternoon heat.

    It could be a day of emotional farewells at Roland Garros.

    Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka has announced that 2026 will be his final season as a professional.

    The Swiss 41-year-old is taking on Dutchman Jesper De Jong in what could be his final French Open appearance, 11 years after he triumphed there.

    Later, 39-year-old Frenchman Gael Monfils, who also plans to retire at the end of the year, will take centre stage in Monday's night session.

    Monfils, a former semi-finalist and firm fan favourite here, is up against compatriot Hugo Gaston.

    Iga Swiatek got the first match of the day on Court Philippe-Chatrier done and dusted in exactly an hour.

    Now reigning Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina is on the main showcourt as she opens her campaign against Slovenia's Veronika Erjavec.

    The Kazakh is a break up in the opening set.

    First, let's bring you up to speed with what's been happening at the start of day two at Roland Garros.

    British qualifier Toby Samuel's streak of wins came to an end against Australian eighth seed Alex de Minaur, as the 23-year-old main is main draw debut at a Grand Slam on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

    Samuel put up an admirable fight against De Minaur, who is ranked 152 places above him, but eventually lost out 6-4 6-4 6-2 after coming through three qualifying matches last week.

    In the women's draw, four-time winner Iga Swiatek and Italian 13th seed Jasmine Paolini both safely progressed in straight sets.
