Great Britain's Caden Cunningham won gold in the men's +87kg to retain his European Championship title, while compatriots Matt Bush and Amy Truesdale also claimed gold.

Englishman Cunningham beat Ivan Garcia in the final, with the Spaniard retiring hurt at the event in Germany.

"The plan for the future is to keep getting better," said Cunningham, who won silver at the 2024 Olympics.

"This is amazing, to get my second European title. Nice to come here and defend that but, ultimately, it's the Olympic Games - everything is just training for that."

England's Trusedale won the K44 women's +65kg title by beating Greece's Eleni Papastamatopoulou in the final, while Welshman Bush won K44 men's +80kg gold by overcoming Croatia's Ivan Mikulic.

Elsewhere, Wales' Lauren Williams was beaten by Germany's Lorena Brandl in women's +73kg final as she earned a silver medal.

There were bronze medals for Scotland's Rebecca McGowan in the women's -73kg, Northern Ireland's Jodie McKew in the women's -53kg and Englishman Matthew Howell in the men's -68kg.
