St Helens have released prop forward Agnatius Paasi after six seasons with the club.

The Tonga international joined the Saints from NRL side New Zealand Warriors in November 2020 ahead of the 2021 season.

The 34-year-old made 112 appearances and scored 10 tries for the club, helping them claim two Super League titles, a Challenge Cup, and a World Club Challenge trophy.

Paasi willl say goodbye to supporters during a half-time ceremony at their next Super League home match, against Warrington, on 11 June.

"I'd just like to thank the club, all the players and coaching staff for taking me on," he told the club website. , external

"I couldn't be happier after coming over at the right time and helping the club achieve what we did. The memories we made, I'll never forget."

A serious injury suffered in the 2023 Challenge Cup semi-final against Leigh sidelined Paasi for 10 months, denying him further appearances in the Saints shirt.

"Iggy played a prominent role in Grand Final and World Club Challenge victories and in our success generally in those years, and we will always remember and thank him for that," said St Helens chairman Eamonn McManus.

"His career at the club was blighted by the horrific injury he suffered in 2023 in the Challenge Cup semi-final, but he never ceased to give his best after he returned from a long absence."
