Warrington Wolves back row Luke Yates is to miss the rest of the season with a neck injury.

The 31-year-old Australian had been in and out of the side since picking up the issue in a Super League clash against Leeds in March and will now have surgery.

Yates, who joined Wire from Huddersfield Giants in May 2024, signed a new two-year deal with the club in February and has made six Super League appearances this season.

"He's put a lot of effort in over the off-season getting the group to where it needs to be in standards, on and off the field," said Wolves head coach Sam Burgess.

"He's a heavy influence on the group and he's naturally disappointed."
