Cardiff Devils captain Joey Martin will return for an 11th season with the Elite League Play-Off winners.

Martin is the third player confirmed for the Devils' 2026-27 roster after defencemen Jimmy Oligny and Nick Welsh.

The 37-year-old Canadian forward first joined the Devils for the 2014-15 season and won the Challenge Cup in 2015 and 2017 as well as the EIite League title in 2017 and 2018

He also won back-to-back Play-Offs in 2018 and 2019 but spent time playing in Norway and Austria when the Elite League was halted due to Covid-19 in 2020.

Martin returned to Cardiff prior to the 2022-23 season and captained the side to victory over Sheffield Steelers in April's Play-Offs final.

Paul Thompson, who took over as Devils head coach in May 2025, said keeping Martin was a priority.

"I loved my year of working with him," said Thompson.

"He drives us all every day on and off the ice with his leadership and commitment to this fantastic club."
