Golfer Penge to take break for health reasons

English golfer Marco Penge says he is taking a break from the PGA Tour to concentrate on his health.
Penge, 28, revealed before last week's US PGA Championship he has been dealing with a recurring issue with his ear, neck and nervous system since suffering a viral infection in November.
After getting another sinus infection and vertigo symptoms, Penge had an MRI scan, writing on X:, external "Thankfully the images were great and so a few of the doubts I have had have gone away which is a big relief."
He failed to make the cut at last weekend's major at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
"This week didn't go the way I wanted it to but that's golf," Penge, who is ranked 43rd in the world, wrote on Instagram. , external
"Moving forward I have decided that I am going to take some time off to get my health back to where it needs to be.
"Thank you for your support as always! I'll be back soon!"
Penge, who has made seven cuts in 12 starts and finished in the top 15 once in his debut season on the PGA Tour, won three times on the European-based DP World Tour last year, reaching a career-high ranking of 29.
Golf's next major is the US Open at Shinnecock Hills in New York, from 18-21 June.
