  2. 'Frustrating'published at 16:30 GMT

FT: Liverpool 2-2 London City Lionesses

    London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses boss Eder Maestre: "Tough game we expect that. When you start losing with a penalty, overcoming the situation is always difficult. I think the reaction that the team had was incredible.

"The second half we decide to change a little bit the shape just to protect more the central channel.

"We thought that we had everything under control, just after recovering the ball the turnover comes and the risk that we tried to avoid in the games punished us in the last minutes that's why it's quite frustrating."

On the squad: "It's about managing the load because we cannot lose the perspective that we are going to have Crystal Palace in three days and City next week.

On perspective: "We are ambitious. Losing [a goal] in the last minute is very, very painful considering the target that we have so that's why it's very frustrating."

  4. 'We needed to pick up three points'published at 16:22 GMT

    FT: Birmingham 1-0 Charlton

    Birmingham City

Birmingham boss Amy Merricks reflecting on her side's first WSL win of the season: "Absolutely delighted with the result. That was the most important thing today - we needed to pick up three points and we delivered that. I don't think the performance was our finest, you could feel the caginess across the pitch and that is something we need to work on. The most important thing was the business, getting the three points. We are in a better place and we keep pushing.

"The players that came into the game added great energy that we needed. We are going to need everyone. The games come thick and fast and we will keep pushing."

On goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley: "No surprise for me. I know the quality she brings, she has been fantastic for us. We need to do more aross the pitch."

On how to improve going forward: "We are rally clear on the principles where we need to improve. We showed today that we can create and score but I want to see more consistency becuase I know what this group is capable of."

  5. 'Definitely deserved the point'published at 16:19 GMT

FT: Liverpool 2-2 London City Lionesses

    Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Kirsty MacLean speaking after the draw against London City Lionesses: "We're disappointed not to get three points but we can take massive confidence from the fact we kept pushing throughout the game and got a point in the end which we definitely deserved.

"We know they are a top team, top signings. We're a team on and off the pitch and we showed that today and I thought we did well in the midfield."

  6. 'We know we made errors'published at 16:16 GMT

FT: Liverpool 2-2 London City Lionesses

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor speaking to the WSL after the draw against London City Lionesses: "We stuck to our principles in difficult conditions. We were outstanding in some parts of the game. We know we made errors. We gifted them two goals. We need to be better than that because sometimes you don't get back in the game.

"If you eliminate those errors, I think we looked dominant. We controlled the game. I thought [Fuka] Nagano and [Kirsty] MacLean, backed up by Jenna [Clark] and Fisky [Grace Fisk], were sensational.

"We know we need to improve in areas, definitely eliminating errors, but the bits in between is something we have really worked on and the players are executing it really well."

  7. 'We'll stick together'published at 16:13 GMT

FT: Liverpool 2-2 London City Lionesses

    London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses forward Freya Godfrey, speaking to Sky Sports: "Obviously disappointed to concede in late manner and the way we conceded. It was a tough game, tough conditions, but we will stick together. It's a massive week coming up."

On what gave them confidence today: "I don't know. Sometimes you just have it and building up with the games I get more comfortable and we all get to know each other better. It's nice to feel the confidence.

"I think it shows we are a really hard working team and we look out for each other. That's what we tried to do in the end today and we got the three points.

"I think I'm pretty much a player who likes to run deep and find the spaces. I need the teammates to find the balls and we're finding the spaces."

On how she's like to see the team build: "I think today we take the chances and the goals but we have to stay better and not drop down. No reason to let Everton to get two games. We have some things to build on but very positive."

FT: Liverpool 2-2 London City Lionesses

    London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses midfielder Alexia Putellas, speaking to Sky Sports: "The game was tough but still today we are working together, we are working really well so we have to keep going.

It was tough because we conceded in the last minute, and it was an own goal. The team was, in terms of the game and competing, it was good but maybe the conditions had an impact on our style. It's a tough game but we will do better.

On Freya Godfrey's potential: "She's the star girl, she will be the future of this club. She has to keep working like she is doing now. She will be the future of England as she is in the present."

Liverpool have got what they deserved. I don't think they did enough to win the game in terms of shots on target, making Lete the London City Lionesses goalkeeper work but they certainly deserved a draw.

FT: Liverpool 2-2 London City Lionesses

    Laura Bassett
Former England international on Sky Sports

    That's the word - persistence.

It wasn't a great goal, it wasn't wonderful but it's in the back of the net - who cares?

There's nobody clearing the danger, nobody attacking it from a defensive point of view and it was an own goal but Olsson is there putting on the pressure.
