What a start to life as a senior Manchester City player for Floyd Samba.

The 17-year-old has looked like the hosts' brightest spark - scoring one goal and helping to set up another - and it's not a night he'll be forgetting any time soon.

Bouaddi's role is to sit in there and break up the Norwich attacks - of which there haven't been very many - and just to keep things ticking over. And feed the ball to the likes of Cherki and Samba.

It's got the feel of a training game at this point.

Norwich haven't made it past the fourth round of the EFL Cup since 2012-13, when they reached the quarter-finals.

Samba has taken up a good position on the left-hand side. It's fallen to his feet, a quick, clever turn and he's trying to get a shot off 16-yards out.

To bend that into the far top corner, he looks a live wire. But it's a bit of a training game at this moment in time.

Two goals in three minutes have undone this Norwich defence and you wouldn't be surprised to see more goals.

Floyd Samba has a go from range and why not, he's full of confidence.

Actually it was a perfectly timed run from Rayan Cherki for the goal.

No need for uproar on this occasion.

Well it's just too easy for Man City, they built from the back. It fell to Samba, and Cherki just makes a run from deep and that's too easy.

He goes in behind the Norwich City back line and composes himself brilliantly. He beats Grimshaw down to his right hand side. Man City on easy street now.

I have to say I thought there was a little question of offside there.

No VAR in operation tonight, though.

Let's not go there shall we.

Norwich are really getting stuck in on the Manchester City players, they are not giving away an inch.

City are going to have to find something special to break down this stubborn Canaries backline.

Nice play from Manchester City and you do feel they could just turn things up when they want to.

But Norwich do well to clear and Allan is muscled off the ball on the right. Yellow shirts everywhere at the moment.

It was a decent run by Samba but Darling should have dealt with that, it certainly wasn't lovely defending, he hesitated.

I think he's waiting for goalkeeper Grimshaw to come and gather but he got back and made the interception.
