Torquay United have signed striker Isaac Westendorf.

The 25-year-old spent last season at Oxford City, scoring four goals in 26 games for the National League North side.

The German-born forward spent his youth career at Barking before moving to Newcastle United's academy side.

He did not make a senior appearance for the Magpies before moving to Northern Irish club Larne, winning a league title, then joining Maltese side Balzan and moving to Oxford City a year ago.

"Isaac is unique," Torquay United manager Jimmy Ball told the club website.

"He's a great young man with a lot of passion and a lot of desire. I think he will be a handful. I think people will have to cope with him and his attributes."

He is the second forward to join the Gulls this week after former Forest Green Rovers striker Sean Robertson.

The 24-year-old moved to the Gulls having last played at Northern Irish side Cliftonville.
