Fleetwood bolster defence with Dempsey loan move

Fleetwood Town have signed defender Jesse Dempsey on a season-long loan from Waterford.
The 21-year-old Republic of Ireland age group international arrives at Highbury Stadium after making 26 senior appearances for Waterford.
Dempsey, who started his career with Wexford Albion, joined Waterford's academy ranks in 2021, before earning a move to Italian side Lecce in 2024.
He returned to Waterford six months later and forced his way into the senior squad, signing his first professional contract with the club last year.
