Troy Deeney's team of the week

Bernd Leno (Fulham): He made the best save of the weekend in the last minute to give Fulham a point in a 0-0 draw. They were poor - they are running out of steam. Leno and Joachim Andersen were massive. Brentford were the better team.

Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth): He's one of those players that goes under the radar. A lot of people are looking at Alex Jimenez because he replaced Milos Kerkez but Truffert has been the best full-back. He was great in the 2-1 victory at Newcastle - loads of power and energy and defended really well and nicked the winner.

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool): You play the Merseyside derby, you're the captain and score right at the end of the game to nick it. You're in the team.

Joachim Andersen (Fulham): Because they kept a clean sheet and got out of there against Brentford with a point, Andersen and Leno deserve loads of credit. Solid performances from both - they stepped up in big moments to get their side a clean sheet.

Nico O'Reilly (Man City): Pep Guardiola spoke about him being the young player of the year. I think he's player of the season. O'Reilly's been the most consistent performer throughout the campaign.

Bruno Fernandes is one that's getting spoken about, but O'Reilly has been fantastic - nine goals from left-back.

He's a number 10 by trade, plays central midfield to cover the team and goes left-back when he needs to. What more do you want from the kid? He's unbelievable. He has a good head on his shoulders.

It looks like he'll probably be England's starting left-back at the World Cup. He's been sensational. The word 'wonderkid' gets thrown around and used to describe players who haven't earned it - but he's earned it. He's been Manchester City's best player by a country mile.

Xavi Simons (Tottenham): I didn't like the celebration when he scored against Brighton - I thought it was a bit too much, a bit Instagrammy. But Spurs have been poor of late and his quality and the X-Factor he showed with the assist and goal could be how they stay up.

I don't think they will stay up - I'm really worried for them, but they need him to have five more games like that and that will give them the best chance. Maybe if the defenders started to defend they would have won the game instead of drawing it.

Bernardo Silva (Man City): In the biggest game of the season, with a Ballon d'Or winner in Rodri next to him, and facing Declan Rice - who people have talked about winning the Ballon d'Or - Bernardo Silva was the best player on the pitch as Manchester City beat Arsenal.

In key moments, he understood what the game required, grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and said 'we win today'. The biggest moment that pops into my head is a cross in the 83rd minute - Bernardo Silva against Viktor Gyokeres to win a header. Bernardo Silva wins it, and blasts Gyokeres in the meantime.

I think he is one of the biggest pieces for Manchester City to replace. Not just with his quality on the ball but also that leadership - it's going to be hard to replace.

Rayan Cherki (Man City): My favourite player, as you know. The best player to watch in world football for me.

Look at that goal against Arsenal - he goes past Gabriel and Rice as if they are not there. The weight of body to transfer from right foot to left foot. When he shoots, you don't know which foot is his strongest, he goes with his left foot past people, and scores with his right. He is just an unbelievable footballer.

Pep Guardiola has found another talent. And at 22, he is only going to get better. It's quite scary when you think about how young this Manchester City team is.

Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingam Forest): Very simple, you score a hat-trick - even if it is against Burnley - you're in the team of the week. Captain's performance. That's all that matters.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa): I thought Aston Villa would be a little bit lethargic following on their European exploits but Ollie Watkins did really well with another couple of goals in the 4-3 win over Sunderland. Fair play to him. Hopefully he gets back into the England squad.

Erling Haaland (Man City): I know he scored the winner against Arsenal, and people will say I'm being biased, but that was his best performance in a Manchester City shirt. Physically strong, he had a great battle with Gabriel and William Saliba - they knew they were in for a fight.

He linked up play when he needed to, ran in behind when he needed to. He did the defensive work, he was great from the set-pieces and then scores the winner in the biggest game of the season.

Manager banner

Pep Guardiola (Man City): Everyone is talking about all this pressure on Mikel Arteta and Arsenal. The pressure was tripled for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

You're considered one of the greatest managers of all time and have the opportunity to win the league and strike a dagger into Arsenal's heart. You're at home and the form team. There was so much pressure on Pep - that was overlooked.

And he tactically manoeuvered that game massively. No subs until the 80th minute, he realised they were in control.

Sometimes managers have pre-set subs at 60 minutes, like Ruben Amorim did, and it throws the momentum to the other team.

I think for Pep, this title would feel better than all the other ones. Everyone has been saying how great Arsenal have been and that Pep doesn't know what he's doing and it's time to leave. Yet he can finish this season with a domestic treble.
