Stoke sign midfielder Devenny from Crystal Palace

Stoke City have signed midfielder Justin Devenny from Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old turned out to be the Potters' third deadline day signing following the late night arrivals of American duo Jack McGlynn and left-back Luca Bombino.

Northern Ireland international Devenny, whose pre-23:00 BST arrival was only confirmed on Wednesday morning, became the Potters' 10th signing of the summer transfer window.

"A big part of the reason for me joining is that the ambitions of the club match mine, and that's to ultimately get back into the Premier League," said Devenny.

"That's the goal, and it's what we want and it's what the fans want as well. With the size of the club, that's what we need to aim to be."

Devenny spent three seasons at Crystal Palace, during which time he scored four goals in 60 appearances.

He also featured in the Eagles' FA Cup, Community Shield, and Uefa Conference League-winning campaigns.

Stoke City sporting director Jon Walters said: "Devenny gives us versatility and further competition within the squad.

"With the 10 new signings we have made over the window, we feel we have added both quality and depth.

"We believe we now have a group capable of having a successful season, but we know the relentless hard work must continue throughout the club if we are going to achieve what we want to."

Stoke have been in the Championship since 2018 when their 10-year Premier League tenure ended - and they are yet to finish in the top half since relegation.
