TNS strike late to win, but Wrexham go top

The New Saints 4-3 Swansea City: Fiona Barry settled a dramatic encounter late on, but Saints dropped to second in the Adran Premier despite a fourth successive win at the start of the 2026-27 season.

The Swans also went into the encounter with three successive wins and fought back from 2-1 at the break to lead in the second half. Barry and Abbie Iddenden put the hosts 2-0 up before Chloe Chivers hit back for Swansea as the break beckoned.

Aimee Deacon levelled, and Chivers put Swans ahead, only for Iddenden to score her second and equalise for Saints before Barry completed her brace in the 94th minute to seal the win. Swansea remain third in the table.

Briton Ferry Llansawel 1-8 Wrexham: Wrexham took over at the top of the table on goal difference thanks to this emphatic win at Briton Ferry.

It was virtually one-way traffic in this south-north encounter, with the visitors rampant. Natasha Thomas got the goals flowing with Katie Barker adding their second before Katy Hosford gave the hosts brief hope.

Barker and Thomas each went away with hat-tricks while Lili Mai Jones and Maria Frances-Jones also found the net.

Barry Town 1-3 Cardiff City: Mia Malone and Ffion Price set the agenda with first-half efforts for the Bluebirds. India Shanahan hit back to give Barry hope, but Haile Richardson ensured victory for Cardiff in the 74th minute, their second on the bounce after two opening defeats. It was a fourth defeat for bottom side Barry while Cardiff rose a place to fourth.

Cardiff Met 2-1 Aberystwyth Town: An early score from Sioned Kersey was not enough for Aberystwyth as they sought to put last weekend's 7-0 defeat by The New Saints behind them in Cyncoed. Celyn Garton equalised before the break, and Faith Mulenga ensured the home win after 70 minutes. The hosts went up one place to fifth, with winless Aberystwyth second-from-bottom on goal difference.
