Cambridge United have signed midfielder Owen Moxon from Stockport County on a season-long loan deal.

The 28-year-old becomes the U's eighth signing of the summer window.

Moxon spent the second half of last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, playing 16 times for the Latics as they preserved their League One status.

Last February, Moxon joined Stockport from Portsmouth where he was part of the squad which secured the 2023-24 League One title.

Moxon's arrival from Stockport comes on the same day it was confirmed U's defender Mamadou Jobe would head in the other direction.

"I originally heard about the interest quite early in the window, and it feels like a great fit," Moxon told Cambridge's website., external
