Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed their new goalkeeper Matt Macey will undergo knee surgery after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in pre-season.

Macey, 31, signed for the Chairboys on a free transfer last month following his departure from Colchester United at the end of last season.

The former Arsenal youngster picked up the injury by landing awkwardly when competing for the ball during a friendly against Yeovil Town on Saturday and is now set for a lengthy spell out.

Macey is one of two goalkeepers Wycombe boss Michael Duff has brought in this summer having already signed Conor Hazard from Plymouth Argyle.
