Wigan sign midfielders Walsh and Gray on loan

Wigan Athletic have signed midfielders Reggie Walsh and Charlie Gray on season-long loan deals.

Chelsea's Walsh, 17, has made four senior appearances for the Premier League side and became their third-youngest player when he made his debut against Djurgarden in the Conference League in May 2025.

Gray, 20, has been with Manchester City since he was an under-9 and made his senior debut against Brentford in the Carabao Cup last December.

Both players could feature for Gary Caldwell's side in Saturday's League One game at home to Leyton Orient.

"It's the perfect stepping stone I need in my career. Being 17, I need to play men's football, and I believe this is the perfect environment for me to be in and build my career," Walsh told the club website., external
