Jenkins took his last training session on Monday
The St Mirren assistant manager Iain Jenkins is leaving the Paisley club by mutual consent due to personal reasons.
Manager Danny Lennon thanked Jenkins for "his efforts, support and professionalism".
Jenkins joined Lennon at St Mirren in July 2010 after turning down the chance to manage Cowdenbeath after Lennon's departure.
The 38-year-old has previously managed junior sides Dundee North End and Tayport.
English-born Jenkins, capped six times for Northern Ireland, was a full-back with Everton, Bradford City, Chester, Dundee United and Shrewsbury Town.
