That's it from us then after a stunning performance from Luke Littler to retain his World Matchplay title - and smash a whole host of records along the way.

The clean sweep in 2026 is still on but for now we can just enjoy having been witness to one of the most remarkable darting displays of all-time.

Littler is a phenomenon and, right now, there is no stopping him...

More from Luke Littler on the potential for a clean sweep of majors in 2026: "Coming into the tournament, I've won every major so far so this is what I wanted to do.

"I've been checking the Pro Tour rankings and whoever is in 64th just keeps going up and up and up. I know there are four in Leicester that I've got to go to now [to try and qualify for Players Championship finals] and we'll see what happens.

"If I don't qualified then I'm going to get grilled and if I do, I'll get grilled anyway. Who knows what's going to happen?"

Gerwyn Price, speaking to Sky Sports: "Luke is one in a million, I threw everything at him.

"I think I played pretty decent in that game, missed a couple of opportunities but the bull checkouts he was taking out, the 167, early as it was, that was a big turning point.

"Then he just grew in confidence. I hung in there for a bit, didn't play brilliant but I played some decent darts.

"If anyone is going to boo this kid then there's something wrong with them, he's fantastic for the sport.

"I wish he wasn't as good as he is - I would have won a couple more tournaments.

"The bull checkouts and the scoring look effortless and I'm trying my guys out.

"I hope there's no one else like him coming through because he's ridiculous!"

World Matchplay champion Luke Littler, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's been a crazy week, one of the best weeks of my life with the darts I've played.

"It's not been easy. It's been tough, the stats may look like it's easy but when you're on this stage with how hit it is, it's not easy.

"But I'm definitely playing some of the best darts of my life."

On how he has made things click this week: "I wouldn't say I've changed anything. It's just same old, chilling out and then coming here before the game.

"Nothing really changes."

On records he's broken: "I feel like it's the best version of myself throughout the week. It's been very good, it's been hard but I've just being playing so well.

"I don't think my dad's too happy because we were going to go to Spain and I think we've got to go to Leicester now and play some Pro Tours [to keep chance of clean sweep in the majors] but it is what it is."

Who is going to stop Luke Littler winnning the clean sweep?

You could argue the first round of Grand Prix (best of three sets) because of the short format but Gian van Veen threw everything at him and he had all the answers.

At the minute his game just holds up in any format and scenario.

He wants to break records. You definitely wouldn't rule it out.

That makes it four majors and four trophies for Luke Littler in 2026. Will he now attempt the calendar clean sweep?

It would mean needing to play in some Pro Tour events and he's already pulled out of the two events in Hildesheim this week.

That leaves just eight left for him to feature in November's Players Championship finals. A total of 64 players qualify for that event and the final qualification spot currently has £22,750 in prize money.

A win is worth £15,000 and a runner-up spot £10,000 to give you an idea of what Littler needs to do.

Even without that, Littler could hold all the titles at the same time if he defends the Grand Prix and then wins his maiden European Championship title in October.

Luke Littler looked like he was in a practice match, he was that comfortable.

He's just come here and enjoyed himself. If he keeps doing that then he's going to keep winning majors.

He's got out in front and dominated opponents this week. He's made really good players look super ordinary. It's sent a message.

Gerwyn Price says he thinks he played OK but Luke Littler was just too good.

"If anyone is going to boo this kid then there's something wrong with them, he's fantastic for the sport," the Welshman tells Sky Sports.

"I hope there's no one else like him coming through because he's ridiculous!"

Mention of another record for Luke Littler, his most 180s at a World Matchplay.

He managed 64 last year, it was 66 this time. That's what you need to do to average 111, I suppose!

Luke Littler has got his hands on the Phil Taylor trophy again and raises it high above his head.

He's enjoying this one as well he might.

"It's been a crazy week," he tells Sky Sports. The numbers are certainly crazy!

Another record for Luke Littler, his average of 111.53 is the highest ever in a World Matchplay final.

He had 12 180s, six 100-plus checkouts and a checkout rate of 60%.

You can't stop that.

Gerwyn Price gave it his best but even with an average of nearly 105, he was on the wrong end of a demolition.

Luke Littler has come along and he is setting new standards.

Won on the bullseye and the 19-year-old is back-to-back champion at Winter Gardens.

A tournament average of 111.04 and a match average of 111.53 - a record for the final.

Big chance for Gerwyn Price.

He misses a dart at bull for the big fish and even when Luke Littler fails to finish on his next visit, Price can't secure the hold.

Littler hits tops to move to within a leg of victory.

I'll be honest, I can't quite believe I've had described someone who is averaging 110 as having had a slight slump.

But from the level Luke Littler was at, it was! Still so much higher than the peak any of us could hope to reach, of course.

Gerwyn Price has played as well as he has in quite a while but he's walked into a man on a mission.

Luke Littler's level dropped a little in that mini-session and his average is now a squeak below what's he done across the week.

Look at the checkout percentage though. Just the six ton-plus finishes now too.
