Beau Greaves created more darts history by becoming the first woman to qualify for a PDC European Tour event.

In a qualification double-header in Leicester, the 22-year-old beat Tom Bissell 6-4 in the European Tour 11 qualifier to secure a place in the Hungarian Darts Trophy tournament in August.

She went on to edge Lukas Wenig 6-5 in the European Tour 12 qualifier to book a spot in the Czech Darts Open in September.

Posting on Instagram, Greaves said: "The heat is no joke but got the job done in qualifiers. Hungarian Darts Trophy and Czech Darts Open here we come!"

Greaves' next tournament will be at the end of this month when she aims to become a three-time Women's World Matchplay champion, facing Finland's Kirsi Viinikainen in her opening match.

Greaves is the top seed, while fellow Englishwoman Lisa Ashton is defending her 2025 title.

It is the latest in a list of achievements for Doncaster's Greaves which include her becoming the first woman to win a PDC ranking title when she beat Michael Smith in April.

She is also the first woman to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour, having done so in a win against Mensur Suljovic in February.

Before Greaves, Ashton was the first woman to claim a tour card at Q-School in 2020 while Fallon Sherrock became the first female to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship in 2019.

Anastasia Dobromyslova was the first woman to beat a male professional on TV in the Grand Slam of Darts in 2009.
