Middlesex wicketkeeper Jack Davies has retired from professional cricket at the age of 26.

He made his first-class debut in the summer of 2020 during the Covid-era Bob Willis Trophy, played his first four T20 games that season and featured five times in the One-Day Cup in 2021.

When John Simpson departed for Sussex, Davies became the club's regular wicketkeeper and played in all 14 County Championship matches in 2024.

In total, Davies featured more than 100 times for Middlesex across all three formats, scoring more than 2,000 runs and claiming 88 dismissals.

Davies' first venture outside the sport running 24 marathons in 24 days around Battersea Park, starting 3 September, to raise money for charities the Brompton Fountain and the Cricketers' Trust.
