Hampshire have signed South African all-rounder Delano Potgieter for three County Championship matches and the start of the T20 Blast.

Potgieter is available for Hampshire's match against Nottinghamshire, beginning on Friday, and will then provide cover until fellow South Africa batter Tristan Stubbs arrives for the Blast after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League at the end of May.

Pogieter has taken 128 wickets and scored more than 2,500 runs in 50 first-class matches so far and recently worked with new Hampshire head coach Russell Domingo during the CSA 4-Day Series - South Africa's domestic first-class competition.

In T20 cricket, the 29-year-old has taken 49 wickets in 97 matches and scored 1,329 runs.

Hampshire begin the T20 campaign on Friday, 22 May away at Somerset in a repeat of last season's final.

Pogieter will also be available for the County Championship matches against Surrey and Sussex in June.
