Gloucestershire have signed South African all-rounder Duan Jansen for the opening six games of the T20 Blast.
The 26-year-old comes in as cover for Liam Scott, who is set to miss the start of the campaign after being called up to Australia's ODI squad.
Jansen will be available for the season opener at home to Warwickshire Bears on Friday.
Director of cricket Jon Lewis said Jansen offered a "similar skillset" to Scott.
"[He is] someone who can take the new ball and bowls with good pace and bounce," Lewis said.
"He also has the ability to strike the ball through the back end of the innings, so he should be a really good fit for our squad."
Jansen is the twin brother of South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen and has been most recently playing with the Titans in his home country.
He has also played for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League in 2021 when they won the title as well as playing in the Indian Premier League.
In 50 T20 matches he has taken 48 wickets, with best figures of 4-23.
