Scotland made it four wins in a row at the World Men's Curling Championship by defeating Italy 9-3 in Utah.
Ross Whyte's rink, making their debut at this level, had opened with losses to Sweden and Japan.
But the convincing success against Italy follows victories over Canada, hosts the United States and Poland.
With a score of three in the second end and a remarkable five in the fourth, the contest was over by the completion of the sixth.
Sweden, skipped by seven-time winner Niklas Edin, lead the way with six wins from six, while Switzerland and Germany join Scotland on four wins in the round-robin phase.
The Scots, defending the title won by Bruce Mouat's rink last year, next face South Korea.
Whyte, along with Robin Brydone, Euan Kyle and Craig Waddell, are representing Scotland after Mouat, who is currently ranked number one in the world, elected not to compete in this edition after their silver medal for Great Britain at the Olympics in Cortina last month.
