Jean says: "Meet 60 year old World Cup Willie. In 1966 I lived near Wembley Stadium and went to many games there including the final.

"He's definitely showing his age (as am I!), but I'm hoping he'll continue to bring England luck from his current home in Wilmington NC, USA."

Martin says: "Here is my dad's ticket to the 1996 semi-final (I've got most games up to the semis). He didn't go to the final for some reason. However, in later years he told me we watched the final on the TV with my brothers, and it was the same day he chopped a tree down in the garden. I was 4½ and remember him chopping the tree down but not watching the final!

"If England get to the final, I will watch the final with my daughter and her 5-day old baby."

Mike says: "I was at every game in England's group and all of the knockout rounds, through to ET in the Final and Geoff Hurst's third and our fourth goal.

"The cost of all the tickets, standing, was 3 pounds, 17 shillings and 6 pence. All you had to do was to apply far enough in advance to get them.

"Years later, I met Geoff Hurst and he told me that the game they were most worried about was the quarter-final against Argentina. We won that game 1-0 with a late goal. Oh for the same this time around."

World Cup 1998 mascot Footix - Giles Goford

Giles says: "I was in Paris as a sports librarian for BBC Sport - it was a glorious six weeks. I mingled with Scottish fans on the Champs-Elysees and Croatian fans in underground bars. I saw Jurgen Klinsmann score a wonder goal against the US at the Parc des Princes, and was Robbie Williams' 'official photographer' as he toured the BBC Studios and wanted pictures with Des Lynam, Alan Hansen and Martin O'Neill.

"Footix, the mascot came home with me and for the past 15 years has been an ever present on my son's bed. I always smile when I see Footix, such great memories for a tournament where France deservedly won on home soil."
