The 2031 Island Games will be held on the Swedish island of Gotland.
It is the third time that Gotland will have hosted the biennial event - they first did so in 1999 and again in 2017.
Gotland will be the third island to host the Games for a third time - Guernsey became the first to host three events in 2023, while the Isle of Man will stage their third in 2029.
The event in Gotland is due to be held from 28 June to 4 July 2031.
Representatives of the 24 member islands confirmed Gotland as 2031 hosts when they met in the Faroes over the weekend, 12 months before the 2027 Games are held there.
"The IIGA is delighted to announce that, following the vote at today's Annual General Meeting, Gotland will be holding the 2031 International Island Games from 28 June to 4 July 2031.
"It feels so good that we have now reached the finish line with this application process that we have been working on since 2024," Fredrik Persson, chairman of the Gotland organizing committee told the International Island Games federation.
"Now we have five years to deliver a great Games."
