The polls have opened in Bosnia and Herzegovina in elections that could affect its bid to join the European Union. The main parties have been campaigning on ethnic divisions rooted in its 1990s war. Also this hour: the US military has left Iraq closing a chapter of a military presence that dates back to the overthrow of Saddam Hussein; and we speak to the author Marcia Chatelain on her new book on the women who took part in the civil rights movement. Joining Julian Worricker on the programme are defence and security analyst Karin von Hippel, and Neri Zilber, correspondent for the Financial Times based in Tel Aviv.
