US-Iran ceasefire under strain

Newsday

Available for 29 days

The Iran-US ceasefire is being tested over whether the truce applies to Lebanon. Iranian backed Hezbollah says it's fired rockets into northern Israel, after Israel launched its deadliest strikes on Lebanon since it escalated its war against the Iran-backed group. We get the latest from Beirut. Meanwhile Iran warned on Wednesday that ships passing through the strait without the permission of the Revolutionary Guard Corps "would be targeted and destroyed". US President Donald Trump has just written on Truth Social, warning Iran that the "'Shootin’ Starts,' bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before" if the "REAL AGREEMENT" is not fully complied with. And we have been gauging the mood in Iran to the latest news of the ceasefire. Presenters: Andrew Peach and Anne Soy. (Photo: Israeli strike, in Al-Mazraa in Beirut, Lebanon.
