Europe condemns US move to ease Russia oil sanctions

European leaders have criticised a decision by the United States to ease sanctions on Russian oil, in an attempt to rein in soaring energy prices caused by the US-Israeli war with Iran. The European Union says it's deeply concerned. The German chancellor said the decision was wrong whatever the reason. Our business correspondent explains. President Donald Trump has hailed the war a major success but he and his administration have offered conflicting statements about what they hope to ultimately achieve.
