Chef and musician Levi Roots: ‘If you change your past, you change your present and future’

Keith Graham, better known as Levi Roots, was born in Clarendon, Jamaica in 1958. He moved to the UK aged 11, settling in Brixton with his parents, who’d already moved to London a few years earlier. After leaving school he became an apprentice engineer but swiftly gave that up to pursue a career in music. He’s been around the London reggae scene since the mid 70s. In 1998, he was nominated for the Best Reggae Act at the MOBOs. Levi really came to prominence in 2007 on Dragons' Den, where he successfully pitched his Reggae Reggae Sauce, having sold thousands of bottles at the Notting Hill Carnival in the years previous. Several books, TV shows and restaurants have followed. In his personal life Levi is a father of eight and still lives in Brixton.
