Disruption is expected to last 'at least a week' following a derailment near Wickford on Friday afternoon. The Greater Anglia passenger service was heading to London Liverpool Street from Southend when some of the wheels on its rear carriages left the rails in an upright position. Emergency services and rail investigation teams attend the incident which has caused extensive damage to 1.5 miles (2.4km) of the track including overhead lines and signalling equipment.
