Tylers store to shut after 104 years

A 104-year-old family-owned department store has announced it will close amid plans to redevelop its home. Tylers will shut in January after plans to knock down part of Carillon Court, in Loughborough, were approved. Steve Tyler, who runs the shop, said while the closure marked the end of an "important chapter" in the shop's history, his team were looking forward to potentially returning to the town in the future. Tylers has been a mainstay in Leicestershire since 1922.
