Get a grip on the political drama surrounding the county council, which saw a deal hatched to remove Reform UK from office and replaced by an unprecedented alliance of parties. Green, Liberal Democrat, independents and Conservative councillors struck an agreement to overthrow the existing administration at the yearly AGM. Matt Jenkins was elected as the council's new leader, with a cabinet containing four conservatives, three councillors from a 'Green and Independent group' and two Liberal Democrats. Barely two hours after the agreement was struck, the national Conservative Party suspended their group leader on the council, saying they did not approve of the deal. Councillor Adam Kent told the BBC he couldn't comment on the situation. Reform group leader Councillor Alan Amos called the new leadership a 'one hour cabinet of chaos'. Tom Edwards reports.
