**Update April 9 2026** Albert Bridge, the 153-year-old Grade II-listed bridge which crosses the River Thames between Chelsea and Battersea, has been closed to pedestrians and cyclists. Kensington and Chelsea Council said concerns had been raised during routine maintenance of the 150-year-old crossing, which connects Battersea to Chelsea.
