Nominations are open for the BBC Radio Solent Make a Difference Awards for 2026. The Awards are your chance to say “Thank You” and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others. Cowes Sailability Club make water-based activities available for people with disabilities on the Isle of Wight. They were finalists in the Active category in 2025 - the Active Award is for people who use physical activity or sport to improve the lives of others in our community. Damien Ward from Cowes Sailability has been chatting to BBC Radio Solent's Tom Stroud. For a full list of categories - and details of how to nominate someone - go to bbc.co.uk/makeadifference, where you can also see full Terms and our Privacy Notice. Nominations are open now and close on the 31st March 2026 at 5pm. The winners will be announced at our Make a Difference awards ceremony in September.
