Donovan Letts was born in 1956 and grew up in Kennington. His working life began in 1975 when he started running the clothing store Acme Attractions, selling electric-blue zoot suits and jukeboxes, and pumping dub reggae all day long. Letts first came to prominence as the videographer for The Clash, directing several of their music videos. His first film, The Punk Rock Movie was released in 1978, after which he expanded to doing documentaries and music videos for multiple bands, including Bob Marley and the Wailers, Musical Youth, and The Pretenders. Over the years Don has established himself as an influential cultural mover and shaker in music and film, not least for turning a generation of punks onto reggae!
