The D-Day veteran who founded Blessed Edwards

Available for over a year

Pupils react to the news that their former headteacher landed on the Normandy beaches! Eventual Blessed Edwards headteacher Frank Doran was part of the D-Day landings aged 18. Having survived to tell the tale, from battling across the beaches of France, and in to Belgium and The Netherlands, he went on to become the founder and first head teacher of 'Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College' in 1963, spending 22 years there. Hear from the 100-year-old, alongside our reporter Tom Edwards at the current school location, with students Toby, Asha and Rafi.
