Available for over a year
Sick leave across the UK has soared to the highest level in a decade. Research by the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development found staff took an average 7.8 sick days in the past year, up from 5.8 before the pandemic. The trade group said the rise was a "worry" and blamed stress, Covid and the cost-of-living crisis. In this episode of our 5 Minutes On podcast, the BBC Cost of Living reporter Sam Gruet has been to Leicester to get a sense of what's going on.
