Available for over a year

Leicester Ukrainians have been celebrating Vyshyvanka, also known as Ukrainian Embroidery Day. Vyshyvanka is a type of traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt that is often decorated with intricate patterns and designs that hold symbolic meaning. These shirts have been worn by Ukrainians for centuries and are a source of pride and identity for many. In Ukraine the day is a national holiday, so Matt Smith went to meet a group celebrating in the city.
