When Robert Peston met RobertBot

Available for over a year

Can a machine ever become as intelligent as a human being? To test this out we asked computer scientist Rollo Carpenter to create RobertBot, a robot that emulates the mind of Robert Peston. The technology is based on Rollo Carpenter's Cleverbot invention, a robot that was designed to have a conversation with a human. In 2011 Cleverbot passed the Turing Test, which was thought up by the mathematician Alan Turing to see how closely computers could mimic human thought.
