Irish folk and vintage Cambodian shellac

Available for 28 days

Kathryn Tickell presents fresh finds from across the world of folk and roots-based music, and Irish singer and multi-instrumentalist Radie Peat shares her Return Journey selections: one that reminds her of travel and another that takes her home. Also, iconic ‘cantu a chiterra’ vocalist Maria Teresa Pirrigheddu draws on the singing traditions of northern Sardinia in collaboration with composer Vieri Mura, and we hear an almost-forgotten example of early 20th-century Cambodian music from a new collection recently restored from the original shellac.
